Executive Story: From Vision to Reality: National University of Singapore's AI Journey

Shui-Min Tan, Chief Information Technology Officer, National University of Singapore
Mat Myers, VP, Executive Partner, Gartner
Join us for an engaging on-stage interview with Shui-Min Tan, the CIO of the National University of Singapore (NUS), as she shares the story of their unique approach to enterprise-wide Generative AI implementation and workforce adoption. Shui-Min made a deliberate decision to move ahead of the curve with Generative AI, commencing prototypes from early 2023 and establishing a dedicated AI team from the outset. They also deviated from the norm with their technology deployment approach - rather than locking themselves into a single vendor AI tool, they developed their own enterprise AI platform that aggregates multiple vendor offerings and lets their workforce choose the one that best suits their needs from a simple drop-down menu.
In this session, Shui-Min will discuss why they decided to prioritize speed to market, why they chose to take a different approach and develop their own AI platform and how they have managed to empower their workforce by building AI self-service tools that allow staff to easily create their own AI applications such as customized chatbots. Other discussion topics will include their approach for optimizing user experience, the AI team roles and delivery model, the various use cases and benefits, and the lessons learned along the way.
This session promises to deliver actionable insights and inspiration to fellow CIOs eager to harness the transformative power of AI in their own organizations. Don't miss this opportunity to learn from a leader at the forefront of AI innovation.
