With a PhD in Computer Science and MSc in Cognitive Neuroscience, Sonia brings a unique interdisciplinary perspective to technology leadership. She is strategic and people-focused, with a track record of driving complex digital transformations in the transport sector. As HS2’s CIO, her remit spans IT strategy, data & analytics, AI and cyber security to drive growth and operational excellence whilst fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
As the former Head of Digital Engineering, Sonia defined a vision for HS2’s Digital Twin and led the implementation of Digital Engineering across the programme to increase efficiency during different stages of the programme. Through digital disruption and leveraging technology her aim is to solve complex business problems and enhance decision making through building a data-driven culture.
She is committed to coaching the next generation of technology leaders and actively supports diversity and inclusion initiatives.
