Dr. Pål Grønsund is Head of Technology at Telenor AI Factory, where he leads the development of a sovereign AI cloud delivering services such as GPU as a Service, AI Development as a Service, and Model as a Service. His work focuses on building secure, scalable, and highly automated AI platforms with strong emphasis on sovereignty, multi tenancy, and self service.
He holds a PhD in Informatics from the University of Oslo, specializing in Cognitive Radio, and has been a Visiting Researcher at UCLA. Dr. Grønsund has held leading roles in major European and industry initiatives, including Coordinator of the EU funded 5G VINNI project and Vice Chair of the ETSI Open Source MANO (OSM) project.
Previously, Pål led cloud strategy and architecture across Telenor Group, driving initiatives in cloud native platforms, multi cloud and edge computing. Today, he combines this background with cutting-edge AI infrastructure to help shape the next generation of sovereign AI services.
