Richard currently holds the position of Chief Security Officer at the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO – a UN Specialized Agency), leading the Organization’s converged cyber/physical security service. In his former role as Head of Information Security at WIPO he led a team of security experts in all aspects of cybersecurity from policy definition through compliance to technical monitoring and incident response and is also currently the Data Protection Officer (DPO) for WIPO with a focus on the protection of private information of both internal staff and external customers.

Spanning more years than he cares to admit, his career in Information Security has seen him running programs for companies & organizations in a diverse range of industries – from think-tanks such as the World Economic Forum to an Australian MSP servicing the mining and critical infrastructure sectors.
