Troy Braban has spent more than 25 years in the information security sector and is a specialist at making security simple for the business. At Citi, Troy is the Chief Information Security Officer for all of Citi’s businesses, global functions and technology organizations. He drives information security strategy for the businesses in close partnership with the Citi CIO and works closely with the information security organization to increase security maturity and help Citi maintain its posture within risk appetite. Troy leads a strong team of information security professionals focused on protecting the bank and its clients and employees, on accelerating the adoption of technology and data in a secure manner, and in providing deep security expertise in countries supporting local business and regulatory activities.
Before joining Citi, Troy was a Managing Director at JP Morgan Chase in their Cybersecurity and Technology Controls organization, based in New York, where he led security engagement into the global corporate and technology functions, and led product security teams including cloud security, application security and data protection. Additional previous roles include Chief Information Security Officer for Australia Post in Melbourne, Australia, Chief Information Security Officer at Tabcorp and APAC Privacy Lead for Accenture.
Troy has extensive industry experience including support for the joint US / Australia cyber dialogue, a founding supporter of CISO Lens (a forum for the leading cyber executives in Australia and New Zealand) and has received a number of industry awards including CISO of the year, an RSA / EMC award for security leadership, security employer of the year and security program of the year. Troy holds a Bachelor of Information Technology from Queensland University of Technology.
