Also depends on what’s the underlaying infrastructure / platform / technology you work on and the mixture on these technologies.

Re-allocate IP addresses and re-configure applications / systems, so called greenfield or 2. Move IP's, using L2 extensions, so called lift & shift, no changes for application.
