Gartner defines enterprise low-code application platforms (LCAPs) as software platforms for the accelerated development and maintenance of applications, using model-driven development tools, generative AI and prebuilt component catalogs for the entire application’s technology stack. Enterprise LCAP features include support for the collaborative development of all application components; runtime environments for high performance, availability and scalability of applications; and application deployment and monitoring with detailed usage insights. Enterprise LCAP platforms feature governance controls and insights, self-service capabilities, APIs for integration with external DevOps tooling, success management with exhaustive technical documentation, training programs and a comprehensive global partner network.
Enterprise LCAPs provide the foundation for developing a wide range of applications and application components with distributed data architectures, including complex multimodal front ends, business workflows, agentic AI and integration capabilities.
The enterprise LCAP market is closely related to the citizen application development platform (CADP) market, as they both aim to address the use cases listed below. However, they are distinctively different in terms of the target audience and complexity of the applications built on the platform.

Outstanding UI designer for high-skill devs, with troublesome integrations and buggy backend.  The support model is well intentioned but flawed, with significant variation in skill across the support offerings.  TSM and Professional Services programs are excellent while daily support group is lacking. 
 Deficiencies include: no true branching or merging of code, vaporware quality gates, thin to nonexistent security integrations, and no native integration to deployment/code repository tooling inhibit its use in full-scale enterprise applications.  The severe pricing changes have caused significant loss of trust and erased some of the benefits we initially saw.

Would be good for the developer to be able to access DB connection while connecting to external DB instead of the team lead doing that. More Documentation would help. writing SQL queries is complicated because of the syntax.

For or example, we spent over three years trying to develop an e-label solution for printing labels across 1,500 parcelshops. With OutSystems, we built and launched a live pilot in Amsterdam in just 8 weeks. Six months later, the e-label solution was up and running in all 1,500 locations across the Netherlands, printing over 15.000 labels daily, that’s nearly 500,000 labels per month.

Support was lacking, but the biggest issue was that we structured an entire solution around Zoho Creator's capabilities. We explicitly asked Zoho if our use case was an approved one and received an affirmative answer. Just weeks before our go-to-market with the new solution, Zoho changed the Creator Terms and Conditions to preclude our use case, and gave us only a month to adapt our technology stack. I will not do business with Zoho again.

My experience with ZOHO was quite pleasant. The team has been extremely supportive in terms of additional features and functionalities. Their customer handling skills in terms of communication is awesome. They assisted us during a very critical deployment and I was thoroughly impressed with their hospitality and kindness during my visit to Chennai. Not only did they resolve my queries, they ensured I personally met each product owner while he ensured my request was understood and taken up at the earliest. However, they tend to slow down on delivery and need to focus on client follow ups. We as clients have had to constantly run calls and emails across to them to ensure timely support and coordination.

Using Zoho Creator in my work provided a whole new experience. First, it’s a fast way of building content tools without necessitating the spinning up of an entire web app. It is perfect for rapid prototyping whereby rather than coding an entire UI from scratch, one only needs to prototype apps via the drag and drop tools. This works smoothly for internal tools. It also allows one to connect with external systems by use of APIs which is also crucial when integrating with the frontend frameworks. In addition, it enables one to create portals, dashboards or form-based apps that are connected to real data without consulting the backend databases. Zoho Creator is also crucial when building and embedding custom frontend components using CSS, HTML or JS when either is needed. With regard to content creation, it is a perfect collaboration tool since it enhances streamlined collaboration. It is also a great reporting and analytics tool which enables one to manage the KPIs by use of Creator's in-built dashboard and also data visualization. These are just some of the ways that I used the tool but there are many others.
