Specializing in network security and information system security, he obtained a Doctor of Engineering from Yokohama National University in 2005. He then joined the National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (NICT), where he contributed to the research and development of the NICTER incident response center. Since 2008, he has been leading cybersecurity research and development at Yokohama National University. His achievements have been recognized with numerous awards, including the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology Award for Science and Technology (2009), the Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications Award for Industry-Academia-Government Collaboration (2016), and the Information Security Culture Award (2017). He has also served as an expert committee member for the National Center of Incident Readiness and Strategy for Cybersecurity (NISC), the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, and the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.
