After joining BB Technologies Corporation (presently Softbank Corp.) in 2002, Tadashi Iida worked as Head of the Technology Unit for Softbank BB Corp., Softbank Telecom Corp. and Softbank Mobile Corp. (presently Softbank Corp.).
In 2015, he was appointed Vice President of Sprint Corporation (currently T-Mobile US, Inc.), where he was instrumental in improving network quality. He returned to Softbank in Japan in 2016 as Vice President and Head of the Mobile Technology Division, West Japan Technology Development, and the Technology Unit, and was responsible for the establishment and optimization of the 4G network.
In 2018 he was appointed Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), he has also served as a Senior Vice President since 2023, and in 2024 he was appointed Chairman of the AI Ethics Committee.
