Speaker Bio
Andrea started his career in a lab at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) in Zürich, researching signalling pathways of cancer and of the immune system. Driven by one question: how can we help more patients, faster? That scientific curiosity never left him. It just found a much bigger lab.
From cancer researcher to General Manager managing the turnaround of a local affiliate and growing the specialty care business by 500%, to Supply Chain Head for Europe manoeuvring the continent's €10B business through the COVID pandemic, to spearheading a global transformation, and now leading Sanofi's Global Supply Chain Strategy & Excellence for our €48B value chain. Together with his team, his focus is using AI to make better decisions, reducing waste, and getting medicines to patients more reliably.
Holding a PhD in Cancer Research & Immunology and an MSc from ETH Zürich, an Executive MBA from the Strathclyde Business School in Glasgow, AI/ML certifications from MIT Sloan, and being a graduate of the IMD advanced management program, Andrea brings a rare combination of bench to boardroom to AI frontier. He led teams that delivered Sanofi's Smart Supply Chain transformation two years ahead of plan, pioneering AI-driven forecasting, a supply chain digital twin, inventory decision intelligence, and autonomous decision-making. Board Member at Interpharma, contributing to Swiss healthcare policy.
When he's not working on leveraging technology for patient impact, he can be seen skiing, mountain biking or trekking in the Swiss Alps with his family, where the nature and change in perspective is a great source of inspiration to him.
