If you've lost (or suspect you will lose) a significant amount of your annual budget due to government funding cuts, what measures are you implementing from a sourcing and supplier management perspective to optimize costs without cancelling contracts?

Contract reviews and internal discussions about clauses such as "act of God" etc. probably are prudent.  Establish contract changes to go into anything new that is signed or renewals.

If you're losing or expect to lose Federal contracts, here is what we're advising contract holders to do immediately (before terminating supplier contracts):

1. Audit Software Licenses
2. Rationalize SaaS Across Departments
3. Review Server and Hosting Usage
4. Review Contract Data Retention and Archiving Policies
5. Reassess Support Staffing (All Tiers)
6. Pause Hardware Refreshes
7. Freeze or Delay Non-Mission-Critical Projects
8. Reevaluate Supplier Value

Federal contract losses hit hard and fast. Many GOVCON companies immediately lay off staff when they lose contracts. Don’t hesitate to renegotiate contracts or terminate relationships with suppliers whose products or services no longer align with your organization's mission.
