Sophos Firewall , particularly with its XGS hardware and SFOS , is a strong, feature-rich NGFW solution that shines with its synchronized security capabilities and ease of management through Sophos Central. Really happy with the product. We've been using Sophos firewalls since 2019 and have not had a single hardware failure, failed update or any unscheduled downtime. The migration from XG to XGS was straight forward and almost flawless (Lack of a management port on the XG meant that the management port we were using on the XGS was disabled after importing the config). I've found the firewalls very easy to administer and they provide almost all of the functionality that we've explored. The lack of mDNS/Bonjour support is the biggest gripe for us at the moment, along with some Google directory synchronization being locked behind other paid products. We've had great support from Sophos. They've provided free in-depth health checks and reviews of our firewall and endpoint protection. Their engineer was really generous with their time and provided us with helpful recommendations.

The user interface is intuitive , which has made daily management easier even in complex evironment like healthcare. Features such as granular traffic control , advanced threat protection, and real-time monitoring have been essential in securing the network and connected device, including those used for diagnostics clinical systems. The integration with Sophos Central has been especially valuable , allowing us to centrally manage security across both firewalls and endpoints, improving our responsiveness to alerts and anomalies. The tecnical support has also been responsive and competent whenever we needed assistance. In summary Sophos Firewall has played a significant role in strengthening the cybersecurity posture of the hospital environment where i work , without compromising service accessibility , and has actively supported our compliance and data protection needs.
