Executive Story: Developer-driven Platform Engineering

As the CCoE of a financial system integrator, we launched a platform engineering initiative to address inefficiencies in traditional development methods and technologies, aiming to enhance developer productivity while maintaining quality.
Our initial efforts focused on reducing lead time, strengthening governance, and transforming development processes through the implementation of Web IDEs and CI/CD environments. Rather than taking a conventional technology-driven approach, we practice product management centered on the challenges and needs of our developers.
I will share some of the difficulties we’ve encountered, such as navigating industry-specific regulatory constraints, overcoming resistance to new technologies during cloud transition, and the challenges of engaging management in the process. ... Show More Show Less
