Speaker Bio
Born in Tokyo in 1967. Bronze medalist in synchronized swimming duet at the 1988 Seoul Olympics. After retiring, she served as a coach for the national synchronized swimming teams of Japan, the United States, and France for ten years. She earned her master’s degree in sports psychology from a graduate school in the United States and obtained her doctorate in System Design and Management from Keio University. Currently, she is a specially appointed associate professor at Keio University, a certified Senior Sports Mental Training Instructor by the Japanese Society of Sport Psychology, and a member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Revenues and Commercial Partnerships Commission, among other roles. She is involved in psychological consulting for top athletes, business executives, and doctors, and conducts corporate training based on psychology. She leads the learning community “iMiA.” Her podcast, “Miyako Tanaka-Oulevey's, ‘Inner Thoughts’,” began streaming in October. She is the author of numerous books, including “How to Organize Your Mind—What Top Athletes Do” (NHK Publishing). She is married to a Frenchman and is the mother of one son and one daughter.
