Fernando Casadevall is the CHRO for World Fuel Services, a Fortune 100 company delivering energy solutions across Aviation, Marine, Commercial, Industrial, and Land since Janaury 2019. WFS operates in over 200 countries serving customers across all their varying energy needs. Fernando is responsible for all HR matters across the group, including compensation, benefits, recruitment, talent, HR operations, and HR business partners. Prior to WFS, Fernando was CHRO for Qatar Airways from 2016 until January 2019. Qatar Airways operates one of the largest airline groups in the world with operations in 75+ countries and 50,000+ employees. Qatar Airways has been recognized as one of the best airline two of the last three years and top five airports in the world. Responsible for all HR matters across the group’s aviation divisions which includes, commercial, cargo, private aviation, HIA airport, duty free retail, catering, and aviation services. Addtionally, Fernando worked at the Al-Futtaim’s Group Companies from March 2013 until March 2016 as Retail - Group HR Director. Al-Futtaim with headquarters in Dubai operates in over 40 countries and has 40,000+ employees. Fernando began his career at Citibank in 2000 to help set-up the HR function across various internet groups including retail banking and payments. From 2002 to 2009 Fernando held various senior HR roles across the consumer bank in North America & EMEA. Appointed in his final role in 2009 as Managing Director - Regional HR Head for Citigroup’s Consumer & Alternative Investment Businesses across Europe, Middle East, and Africa. In this role Fernando headed up HR strategy and policy for these product business lines in 25+ countries and provided coverage and oversight directly for Citi’s Western European Holdings HR structure. Before joining Citi, Fernando held broad HR Generalist assignments with the investment banking firm Spear, Leeds & Kellogg, now a part of Goldman Sachs, and with Sony Entertainment. He earned a Master of Arts in Human Resources Development from Fordham University; and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Arizona. He is an active member of the communities he lives in and prides himself as being a first generation Latino raised in NYC. Fernando has previously served on the boards of the Baltimore Children's Museum, Academy of Finance & Technology Baltimore, and Oryx International School Doha.
