Matt Moorut is a Senior Director-level analyst for Gartner for Marketers, based in London, UK. He leads Gartner's Industry Marketing Strategy and Execution research and serves as the chair for Gartner's North American Marketing Symposium/Xpo.
As an analyst, Mr. Moorut provides Gartner's clients with guidance on various channel marketing topics. He is principally responsible for producing Gartner's analysis on email marketing and supports clients on search marketing, mobile marketing and omnichannel strategy. His research focuses on a range of topics, including budget benchmarks, channel strategy, vendor selection and tech market trends, and operational and executional best practices. He is the lead expert for Gartner's "In the Company of Genius" research, which highlights cross-sector best practices in digital marketing strategy.
While working for L2 (acquired by Gartner in 2017), he delivered presentations to C-Suite leaders at retail businesses including Swarovski, P&G, Ralph Lauren and Chanel. He produces research specific to the retail industry and supports clients with insights and analysis on retail-specific marketing topics including budgets, consumer trends, and digital marketing best practices.
Mr. Moorut previously served as the CMO of a social enterprise that supported 40,000 nonprofits with access to numerous digital marketing and IT solutions and training. In this role, he ran a digital publishing platform and was responsible for budgeting, martech and partner strategy, sales and marketing strategy and execution.
