Matt Walter is Chief Human Resources Officer at Medtronic. He serves on the company’s Executive Committee and leads the talent, culture, and organization strategies that support a global team of 95,000+ Medtronic employees.
As CHRO, Matt provides leadership for the Global HR function’s HR business partners, centers of expertise, and shared services. This includes responsibility for talent management and acquisition; leadership development; inclusion, diversity & equity; global rewards; organization effectiveness and people data/analytics, HR digital enablement, and employee relations.
Matt was appointed CHRO in July 2023, following nine years with Medtronic in a variety of HR leadership roles. He most recently served as HR VP, Global Operations & Supply Chain, where he was responsible for HR strategies supporting roughly half of the company’s global workforce. Earlier in his tenure, he held business partner roles in the company’s Restorative Therapies Group, Coronary, Structural Heart, and Diabetes businesses.
