Dian Zhang serves as a Senior Principal, Research in Gartner's Legal and Compliance Practice. Dian writes research articles and advises chief compliance & ethics officers, general counsel and other legal and compliance leaders of issues including compliance program management, training and communications, code and policy management, and program effectiveness. Dian is an assistant editor to Gartner Business Quarterly, Gartner's journal for C-suite executives and their teams.

Previous experience

Prior to joining Gartner, Dian worked as a Data Journalist for the Builder Magazine, a leading publication serving the U.S. homebuilding industry. She produced interactive data insights based on public and proprietary data sources to guide homebuilding planning. An alumna of the Dow Jones News Fund, Dian covered mergers and acquisitions stories for the newsroom of The Street/The Deal. She previously worked as an intern reporter for McClatchy's Washington Bureau, covering technology, economy and education. Her work also appeared in renowned local newspapers such as The Miami Herald and The Sacramento Bee.
