Matt Cantrell is a Senior Research Principal in Gartner's Assurance Practice. He leads research studies focused on compliance program management and corporate ethics and integrity. He specializes in the behavioral science behind employee misconduct and willingness to speak up. He covers questions related to compliance training and communications, reporting and investigations, and culture of ethics and integrity. Matt's research uses data-driven insights and practitioner-sourced best practices to help chief compliance and ethics officers grow the efficiency and effectiveness of their compliance programs.
Earlier in Matt's career, he conducted data privacy and legal research for Gartner. In his data privacy role, he helped chief privacy officers embed privacy by design and develop effective information governance. In his legal role he helped general counsel grow the risk-advising know-how of their lawyers.
