She has written research encompassing the future of work and how CIO's can address IT skills gaps, IT talent management life cycle, and designing Employment Value Proposition (EVP) that enable attracting and retaining top IT talent. Her most recent work covers critical leadership skills including how CIO's can drive IT culture change to support a fast changing business environment; developing high-performing teams, employee motivation, and implementing effective performance management strategies.
Ms. Schoen is a sought-after speaker and brings more than 20 years of experience working with global companies in Asia, Eastern and Western Europe, and Africa. In addition to her work at Gartner, Ms. Schoen is a visiting professor at a Munich University, where she lectures in management information systems
Prior to joining the CIO Research group, Mbula spent 7 years as an analyst in the Project & Portfolio Management (PPM) team covering PMO, PPM software and was co author of the Gartner magic quadrant for PPM.
Before joining Gartner, Ms. Schoen worked for Siemens Communications in Munich, Germany, as a market analyst and as an executive advisor for the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) in Shanghai, China.
