Alvaro Mello is a Vice President, Advisor with Gartner's CIO Research & Advisory, advising C-level executives and board members on leadership related topics including culture change, strategy planning and execution, governance, innovation and how to clearly communicate the business value of IT.

He focuses on helping C-level executives to develop their personal leadership styles, drive cultural and transformational changes and how it affects the workforce in the digital business/AI era.

Previous experience

Prior to joining Gartner, Mr. Mello had many years of experience in the IT industry as an IT and business executive and entrepreneur. He worked for 12+ years as a CIO in different industries (media, consumer goods and manufacturing), focusing on providing new products and services to external customers through the implementation of large transformational business engagements and complex technical modernization projects. He also spent many years in management consulting, both as a senior manager at Deloitte and as a partner at his own consulting firm supporting large global companies.
