Bill Ray provides written research and inquiry covering emerging technologies including satellites and polyfunctional robotics. He also looks at connectivity extending from low-power networks to orbital satellite constellations, and drone applications, primarily for Product Managers and Tech CEOs.
Mr. Ray has extensive experience in developing wireless products and services, which was accumulated at international telecommunications companies including Telefonica, Swiss Telecom and Cable & Wireless. His experience extends into securing communications and systems, having developed cryptographic software and created secure applications for execution on SIM cards and other embedded platforms. Before joining Gartner, he worked with telecommunication companies around the world, advising and training staff on the impact of the IoT and how to prepare for it. He has also authored two books on embedded application development, focused on working with wireless protocols and secure communications.
