Chirag Aggarwal is a Senior Principal in Gartner’s HR practice, where he leads research on HR function strategy and management. He advises Chief HR Officers and senior HR leaders on how to strengthen the effectiveness of their HR functions by rethinking operating models, redefining HR talent, and aligning organizational/HR priorities with business transformation.
A core area of his research focuses on the implications of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Generative AI (GenAI) for HR, including how HR operating models, tasks, and roles must adapt in an AI-infused environment. Within this work, Chirag specializes in HR talent effectiveness, particularly the HR Business Partner (HRBP) role, and provides guidance on building HR’s strategic influence through organization design, change management, and leader and manager development.
He also oversees Gartner’s HRBP and Manager Success webinar portfolios, delivering actionable, research-backed insights that help clients improve business outcomes.
Before joining Gartner, Chirag worked with startups in the research and advisory space, where he led initiatives on go-to-market strategy. His work centered on identifying opportunities in new and emerging markets, designing strategies for client acquisition, and positioning insights-based solutions for growth. Alongside these responsibilities, Chirag partnered with senior executives on talent and workforce transformation challenges, helping organizations align their HR and leadership practices with their expansion strategies.
