David Groombridge is a Distinguished Vice President Analyst, Gartner Fellow and Chief of Research within the IT Leaders and Technical Professionals practice in Gartner Research. Mr. Groombridge undertakes analysis on the impacts of changing aspects of globalization on IT and business strategies, with a focus on identifying and managing risks. He also provides guidance for clients on all phases of the IT sourcing cycle, with a particular focus on best practices in the sourcing of managed workplace services, hybrid infrastructure services and hosting of SAP systems.
Mr. Groombridge has over 20 years of experience in the IT industry. Prior to joining Gartner, he reported to the CIO of Eversheds, a global law firm. In this role, he managed a number of strategic vendor relationships, led the successful negotiation of the firm's largest outsourcing deal, and managed the implementation of multiple data center outsourcing, BPO and SaaS initiatives, and also won the firmwide innovation award in 2011. Prior to his time at Eversheds, he held a range of IT program and product manager roles, spanning the insurance, financial services and enterprise software industries.
