David Sugden is a Principal Analyst in Gartner’s Research & Advisory, specializing in Enterprise Architecture and formerly a member of the Technology Innovation practice. He is also a former Gartner Future Lab Associate, supporting with Gartner's far horizon research.
David’s research is dedicated to helping organizations build the right foundations to become future-fit, with a particular emphasis on process mining, artificial intelligence, emerging technologies, trendspotting, and innovation.
David works closely with IT leaders such as CIOs, CTOs, and heads of EA, guiding them as they explore possible digital futures and build the internal capabilities necessary to achieve their desired future states. David supports with future state architecture, technology roadmaps, strategic planning, and the use of technology radars.
David supports with best practices for communicating technology strategies and future state architectures to a range of stakeholders, ensuring that strategic plans, roadmaps, and EA value propositions are clearly articulated and actionable. His research also covers EA assessment and IT scorecards, and topics around enhancing process maturity.
Prior to joining Gartner, Mr Sugden was studying towards his masters of science in International Business.
