Ganesh Ramamoorthy is the Country Lead for Gartner India Research, and is a Managing Vice President based in Gartner's Mumbai Office. Mr. Ramamoorthy advises C-suite leaders, Board of Directors, CIOs, and IT Leaders across industry verticals on digital transformation, digital strategy, global insourced (capability) centers, industry 4.0, smart factory, robotics and automation, IOT implementation, technology implementation, and IT operating model transformation.
He also advises product leaders and strategy leaders in technology provider organizations on product development, management, marketing, messaging, competitive positioning, product roadmap development, go-to-market strategy, and long-term strategic business planning. He further advises government departments and industry bodies on issues pertaining to policy and technology standards development.
He currently manages analysts worldwide and leads research in emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Generative AI, Quantum Computing, Metaverse, Smart Spaces, Internet of Things, Advanced Semiconductor Manufacturing, High Performance Computing, Emerging Battery Chemistry, Silicon Photonics, and Optical Communications that impact end user organizations in manufacutring industries such as Automobiles, Oil and Gas, Energy, Semiconductors & Electronics, Pharmaceuticals, Healthcare, as well as in services industries such as Retail, Hospitality, IT and Telecom.
Mr. Ramamoorthy is a regular speaker at Gartner Symposium ITXpo and a regular invited speaker at various global industry forums on emerging technologies, digital business, talent strategy, IoT and semiconductors. He has 28 years of experience in the technology industry and is an alumnus of Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani, from which he has a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering and a master's degree in mathematics.
Prior to his current role at Gartner, Mr. Ramamoorthy was in charge of the industry research practice in his previous company. His role was to engage with clients on an ongoing basis to ensure timely delivery of top-quality customized industry research, manage client expectations, train associates on research methodologies, and ensure compliance with global quality standards, while assisting the sales organization in new client acquisition.
