Dr. Gaurav Gupta is a VP Analyst in the Emerging Trends and Technologies team. Dr. Gupta provides advice on the entire semiconductor manufacturing and design value chain including capital spending, advanced packaging, process technologies, AI analytics, and chip industry economics and geopolitical impact. Dr. Gupta also covers emerging areas within the automotive industry, such as autonomous vehicles, evolving vehicle architecture, and automotive cloud. Dr Gupta's latest research expands into future energy-efficient compute technologies for evolving AI/GenAI workloads, including new paradigms, such as Quantum Computing, Custom Silicon, and Liquid Cooling. Physical AI is another new research frontier that Dr. Gupta is focused on. Additionally, Dr. Gupta has responsibility of being Vendor Lead Analyst for Nvidia.

Previous experience

Prior to joining Gartner, Dr. Gupta worked as a Knowledge Expert at McKinsey & Co. where he advised clients across the globe in the semiconductor and electronics industry with a focus on business transformation (cost, operations, and growth) and product strategy (launch/development/planning). He has a strong technical background in the semiconductor industry in process, yield, R&D, and integration, having worked at Intel and IBM prior to the stint with McKinsey & Co.
