James Bourke is a research director in the Gartner's audit practice. He advises chief audit executives on a range of topics including audit data and analytics, Generative AI adoption for audit, and audit technology. His work also extends to audit methodology and reporting, as well as audit department process and efficiency. In addition to these topics, his past research initiatives at Gartner have included audit engagement value delivery, risk assessment and audit planning, risk trends, and aligned assurance.
Prior to joining Gartner in 2022, James worked in the education industry for 10 years, where he held a variety of teaching and leadership roles. James has a background in academic social science research.
