John Santoro is a Vice President Analyst in Gartner's Technology and Service Provider research practice. He helps product managers with marketplace and ecosystem strategy, product pricing (particularly with GenAI), productizing data, and transitioning to SaaS solutions. He advises clients on the implementation and productization of APIs, including API pricing and API management. He also works with buyers of technology on these topics.
Prior to joining Gartner, at IBM Mr. Santoro coded, tested, and deployed applications in order to compare IBM's Cloud and Middleware solutions to competitors such as Red Hat, Oracle, Mulesoft, and Amazon. Prior to IBM, he served as the Product Manager, Chief Architect, and developer of a small startup that was acquired by IBM in 1999.
