Laura Cohn serves as a Director, Research in Gartner's Legal and Compliance Practice. Laura writes research articles and advises general counsel and other legal leaders on a range of issues including legal department management and strategic planning. Laura leads content strategy for the NewsDesk's team of researchers and also is a regular contributor to Gartner Business Quarterly, Gartner's journal for C-suite executives and their teams.
Laura has led and contributed to major research efforts at Gartner to address questions including: how senior leaders should distill rapid U.S. policy shifts to stay focused on business priorities, how legal leaders can defend their budgets, how organizations should provide guidance on generative AI use, and how to navigate a complex and volatile regulatory environment. She served as co-host of The Strategic GC, Gartner's podcast for general counsel. Prior to Gartner, Laura spent more than two decades as a business journalist, reporting from London, Brussels, New York, and Washington, D.C.
