Michael Hoeck is a Senior Director Analyst within Gartner for IT Leaders and Tech Professional (GITL). He works in the Infrastructure and Operations group, covering backup and recovery solutions for on-premises, hybrid, multicloud and SaaS environments, data archiving solutions, digital communications governance and archiving, and investigations tools, as well as strategies around data life cycle management (ILM) and information governance (IG).
Prior to joining Gartner, Mr. Hoeck held a progressive series of account management, sales, systems engineering and product roles at Dell Technologies focused on archiving, e-discovery, compliance and backup. Prior to Dell Technologies, he held roles in system engineering, specialty sales and channel with EMC Corporation, Legato Systems and OTG Software.
Mr. Hoeck was previously responsible for account management, specialty sales, systems engineering and product roles. He focused on delivering expert-level insight to backup, archiving, e-discovery and compliance to help customers solve the complex challenges of protecting and managing data whether on-premises, virtualized, hybrid and/or cloud.
