I cover monitoring and observability, and can speak to infrastructure monitoring (ITIM) and Event Intelligence Solutions (EIS), as well as AIOps. I can also advise on ITSM, Event Management, and Availability Metrics frameworks.

Previous experience

I have over 26 years of experience working in IT, having worked almost 25 of those years at a Fortune 100 company with technical, leadership, and architectural roles. I started as a administrator for web infrastructure including webservers, appservers, and load balancers. I then transitioned to a management role over server admins for Unix, Windows, and Linux distributed systems. I then moved to a role of Division Lead with an organization that supported monitoring tools, ITSM tools, Knowledge Management, and ITSM processes and metrics. My next role revolved around working with integrating and educating application development teams into these previously infrastructure-centric disciplines. I worked with engineering teams on metrics to measure their services. Next, I managed our 24x7 NOC. We received most of the information from the aforementioned tools and processes. I helped develop an automation platform that auto-resolved incidents before they were received at a console. I then spent time in an Architectural role, designing 3-5 year plans for the Digital Operations space as well as our End User Compute organization. I then moved to a small nonprofit and was the Director of IT where I had to determine the direction for all aspects of IT, including infrastructure, software engineering, and IT security.
