Mr. Gulzar is a VP analyst in Gartner's Research and Advisory practice. He is a thought leader in the governance space. His primary research focuses on evolving governance in the digital era to benefit people, society and business. He created the adaptive governance approach to optimize the balance between stability and agility (at speed) by enabling enterprises to continuously adjust decision-making guardrails to achieve business outcomes. Mr. Gulzar covers IT strategy, enterprise and IT operating models, organizational design and IT GRC as additional research topics. As a seasoned practitioner and subject matter expert on these topics he has developed and implemented numerous initiatives across multiple industries and has taught on the subjects at postgraduate programs of the University of Tilburg in the Netherlands (TIAS). Mr. Gulzar is a hands-on subject matter expert. He has led a number of global initiatives that leverage technology as accelerator to achieving business outcomes, ranging from IT strategy, organizational restructuring and enterprise architecture, audit and risk, to IT M&A and large-scale IT operating model transformations.
Prior to joining Gartner, Mr. Gulzar has held positions as global head of IT Strategy, VP of IT and head of IT strategy & enterprise architecture. He has fulfilled numerous key leadership and subject matter expert positions, demonstrating the contribution of IT to business outcomes with top tier companies in the financial, and (high-tech) manufacturing industries, operating on the tangent between business and IT.
