As part of the Sourcing & Procurement research team, Ryan leads research on procurement organizational design—including governance, operating models, and organizational structure—as well as data & analytics, artificial intelligence, functional transformation, and CPO communication and influence. He co-led the development of Gartner’s Designed Simplicity approach to functional transformation, developed Gartner’s organizational design blueprint framework, and created a new and rigorous approach to evaluating data & analytics use cases. His work has been published in Harvard Business Review, Gartner Business Quarterly, The Washington Post, Forbes, Business Insider, and other premier media outlets.
In previous roles, Ryan developed and executed research initiatives for clients across a variety of industries, including technology, energy, healthcare, finance, and public affairs. His signature research covered the future of work and employee-employer relations, corporate reputation, message development for marketing and lobbying, and brand differentiation through data-driven thought leadership.
