Sarah Watt (VP Team Manager) is responsible for the operating model’s team who cover IT and enterprise operating models. IT operating models help organizations orchestrate their IT capabilities to achieve business outcomes. The ITOM team advises global enterprise clients on the five operating model patterns (Asset, Process, Service, Value and Invention). This team also covers IT governance, organizational design (centralized, decentralized and federated). Additionally, the team covers enterprise operating models (EOM) which help client identify differentiating capabilities to drive value and meet strategic goals.
Prior to this role, Sarah was an analyst, advising global enterprise clients on enterprise sustainability strategy, including topics such as energy, water, waste, GHG emissions and the circular economy. She has lead Gartner Sustainability Executive Leadership Key Initiative, the Sustainability research communities and she is a Gartner Fellow. She has also spoken at various internal and external events, including Gartner’s Supply Chain and IT Symposium and the COP29 Conference held in Baku. She is a trusted partner to CEOs, CIOs, CSCOs on sustainability related matters.
Sarah has a strong interest in academia. She holds the following qualifications Mst. Sustainability and Leadership (Cambridge), Bachelor of Engineering (Open), Bachelor of Arts (UKZN).
Prior to Gartner, Sarah led the Sustainability Strategy for Johnson Matthey (JM) a FTSE100 catalyst and chemicals company. Her 11-year tenure at JM enabled Sarah to take on various roles from including disciples such as health and safety, risk management, business continuity management and quality.
She has also worked for a Biogas, a landfill management company, in a technical design and sales role.
