Veronica Walk is a Vice President Analyst on the healthcare industry research team. She advises healthcare provider CIOs and other technology and business executives across the technology lifecycle including strategy, procurement, implementation, optimization, and value realization. Her core areas of research include clinical informatics, electronic health records (EHRs), clinical decision support (CDS), and emerging clinical technologies. As a former clinical informatics leader, she offers practical, empathetic advice for aligning people, process, and technology to achieve healthcare's highest aims - improved health outcomes, improved patient and provider experiences, reduced costs, and increased health equity.
Prior to joining Gartner, Veronica spent her entire career in the healthcare provider industry, most recently serving as the Director of Clinical Informatics for a large U.S. health system. In this role, she led the enterprise physician, nursing and imaging informatics programs. Over her tenure, she was involved in the deployment of many major enterprise initiatives including the EHR, digital dictation, enterprise imaging, and clinical communications and collaboration (CC&C).
