Upon joining Rockwell Automation, the new to role Infrastructure & IT Operations leader faced  the critical challenge of rapidly scaling infrastructure services to meet business demands. Leading core infrastructure and platform engineering functions, the client needed to assess talent and build a resilient organizational structure at the convergence of platform engineering and infrastructure and IT operations functions. To achieve these priorities, he required a pragmatic operating model that aligned with business objectives and delivered results at scale.

Gartner's research was pivotal in assessing talent and building a resilient organizational structure, particularly by integrating Platform Engineering with Infrastructure & IT Operations functions to deliver on advanced automation skills and tools. Outcomes from Gartner's Maturity Assessment tool proved valuable in evaluating their current state, outlining goals and developing a clear roadmap for improvement. Additionally, Gartner's insights on operating models and financial benchmarking tools informed strategic decision making, enabling the development of an operating model that aligned with business objectives. Insights from Gartner experts that specialized in literature around RFP co-creation, proved helpful in accelerating the RFP Creations process and allowed the leader to focus more on execution.
