This report is derived from the Gartner’s annual Survey of Legal and Compliance Leader Priorities & Challenges which surveys compliance leaders across industries, asking them to rank the compliance trends and priorities for the year ahead. In 2025, two recurring themes—supporting business growth and harnessing AI advancements—emerged prominently in the top five priorities for nearly 100 leaders who participated in our survey.
Additionally, compliance leaders are prioritizing third-party, privacy and AI risk management, along with improvements in compliance risk detection and in efforts to better measure program effectiveness.
