Previous experience
Prior to joining Gartner, he helped several technology vendors launch IT innovations such as object-oriented ERP applications, mobile business applications, XML servers and cloud management platforms into the European market. He started his IT career as a Management Trainee in the Office of the CIO at Akzo consumer products, Mr Petri studied business economics and information technology in Rotterdam and Tilburg. During his study, he wrote and marketed one of the first European shareware applications and founded his first consumer electronics and media startup. He is a former board member of the XML Users Group, Holland and Geel-Zwart field hockey, where he actively played until taking up running.
